Shirley signalbox RIP. Once colour light signals were introduced controlled from Bescot powerbox there was no future for the structure.
Network Rail lost no time in demolishing three signalboxes before attempts to save them got off the ground. Those demolished were here at Shirley, Henley in Arden and finally at Bearley Junction.
