Welcome to the new website for Clive Hanley Photography

There are several collections on the website ranging from trains, The Vulcan Bomber XM655 based at Wellesbourne airfield, the natural world, Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010, travel and weddings.

Of particular interest is a collection of photographs taken at and around Wellesbourne House in the village of Wellesbourne in Warwickshire, England. This was the home of Juliette Gordon Low ("Daisy" to her friends) from 1886 to 1905. With her husband William they led a lively life as part of the Burlington Set with many late Victorian celebrities visiting and being entertained at the House including Edward, Prince of Wales who became King Edward VII on the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. William sadly passed away at the age of 45 in 1905 and Juliette returned to her home in Savannah, Georgia, USA. Having befriended Lord Baden-Powell while in England Daisy went on to be the founder of the GirlScouts of the USA in 1912. With the approaching Centenary this collection will act as a reference work for researchers into Daisy's earlier life.

My thanks must go to Katherine Keena and Fran Harold of the Juliette Low Birthplace Museum, Savannah Georgia and also to Professor Stacy Cordery for help, advice and ongoing support. Professor Cordery has completed a biography of Juliette Low which was published on February 16th 2012.

I hope you enjoy looking through these photos and do make comment. Its always good to receive some feedback. It makes the effort all the more worthwhile.

I've always enjoyed taking photographs. However I was almost always disappointed with the results obtained through High Street processors. Since going digital and with the ability to do my own image processing on a computer and even home based high quality printing my enthusiasm has simply exploded.

I normally work with Nikon digital cameras - D700 & D200, mainly Nikon lenses coupled with processing via Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop software.

Please feel free to provide feedback on my photos and dont hesitate to get in touch with any photography related quesions.

Oh - just in case you were wondering... The image above was taken by my daughter while I photographed a practice session of motorbike racing on the Isle of Man - home of the TT races.

It’s really great to see you back on-line Clive. Your absence has been greatly missed by Ben and I (and many others no doubt). Outstanding shots as usual together with the classy new presentation…

Hi Clive, also pleased to have tracked you to your new site. Bumped into you a couple of years back at Tyseley (in the queue) and have enjoyed your galleries since then. Great shots of the King, guessed you'd be there. Look forward to seeing future work, and interesting to have the ability to purchase from you now through the site.
