4965 Rood Ashton Hall accelerates away from Shrewley summit.

There are few places in my neck of the woods that provide clear open shots of the railway, particularly on the sunny side of the train. I'd used the best location last week at Hatton North Junction so decided on this location north of Shrewley for this afternoon shot. Bumped into Rick Eborall here who'd also chosen this spot and enjoyed the natter.

I also had to use a location that didn't take too long to reach as watching the final stage of the Tour de France on TV was essential and it only finished at 4.20pm. A British overall winner - Bradley Wiggins and Isle of Man World Champion and ace sprinter Mark Cavendish won the stage on the Champs Elysees for the 4th time!!!!! History in the making!
