for Sunday 16th October

We are extremely delighted to confirm XH558 will take part in a celebratory flypast on Sunday 16th October to honour the people of Wootton Bassett as they celebrate the Letters Patent granting the title "Royal" to the town, being presented on that day by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

Although it will cost us dearly in fuel, we know this is the right thing to do, to thank the local people and all those at nearby RAF Lyneham where XH558 has always been such a welcome guest.

This flight is made possible not through sponsorship or payment, but by the happy coincidence of the planned flypast, the need for an engine run as part of our regular aircraft maintenance, and the golden opportunity to raise a significant profile to our current initiatives, particularly 'A Salute to Her Majesty', whilst also being a valuable fundraiser.

We have therefore arranged with the airport to have XH558 on a stand outside the terminal and make a rather special day available to our most valued supporters and the public alike.

Just 558 exclusive tickets will be available priced at £6 per adult and £3 per child that will allow access on Sunday 16th October to 558's Family Fun Day to be held in the viewing gallery of Robin Hood Airport.

Full details have yet to be confirmed, but there will be attractions laid on from 11am, right through to 6pm in the evening. You will be able to see XH558 prepared for flight, depart mid afternoon, then return to Doncaster. There will be guests to meet and plenty of opportunities for shopping and refreshments.

An additional concessionary rate for all day car parking has been agreed.

More details will be released in Tuesday's News Bytes, so to reserve your spot please visit our web store from this link to book your tickets.

DEMAND IS EXPECTED TO BE HIGH - SO DO BOOK EARLY!
