I've not seen this loco for many years and was pleased to read in the press that it was back up and running. However when I saw it being shunted and looking like this I wondered what on earth had happened.
It would appear that after a few runs a leak (or leaks) appeared that required the cracking open of the cladding to enable examination. I believe the painter(s) were less than pleased. Also a "clank" was reported so the mechanics were all listening for the said noise as it was shunted back on shed.
