Finally the exterior of Lime Street Station is revealed in all its glory.

Finally the exterior of Lime Street Station is revealed in all its glory.

In the age of concrete in the 60's a number of dreadful buildings were planted in front of the station building. It has finally been cleared away and the station and the adjacent North Western Hotel on Lime Street provides a wonderful vista for arriving visitors.

The hotel lay empty for many years retaining its blackened downtrodden exterior until a need for student accomodation was required for the nearby Liverpool Polytechnic - Whoops John Moores University. It now faces St Georges Hall with pride instead of shame.
