12.01pm. Group Captain John Laycock was Base Commander of RAF Waddington in 1982.
This was at the time of the Argentinian war over The Falkland Islands and it was his responsibility to get the aircraft ready - REGARDLESS OF COST - for the flight refuelling operations and readyness for the famous Black Buck Mission.
