For the afternoon run I chose the footbridge north of Shrewley. This is what I faced on my arrival.

The farm track that runs parallel to the railway from near The Durham Ox pub is well used and I've walked down there many times in the past although it is not a public footpath. No harm is done to the crops when walking down there. Clearly though the farmer has taken exception and during the winter had piled dead brambles up against the public footpath stile where I, and other photographers, climb over to reach the footbridge. Nettles had grown up through the piles of brambles making an almost impenetrable barrier. With little option to go elsewhere due to the time I was not to be defeated and hacked my way through. Nettle stings, bramble thorns, cuts and bruises were my reward for my hobby. I got what I wanted though.
