Class 47 - D1500 (as 47401)
D1500 was the first Class 47 Brush locomotive to be built and entered service on 28th September 1962. It was named "North Eastern" on 16th December 1981 and received the coat of arms of the Great Northern Railway in November 1982. It passed into the hands of the 47401 Preservation Group and moved to Butterley on 7th July 1993. It is now undergoing a heavy overhaul of its engine and it is hoped it will be operational for its 50th birthday in 2012.
