Read on for my story about this magazine article.....

In the early 60's when I was a kid almost every Saturday my brother Peter and I would catch a train from our home station of Maghull to travel into Liverpool Exchange for our day out. The route passed through Aintree and on departing Aintree station we always looked over towards Aintree loco shed to see what was there. One day we were astonished to see a bright red Coronation Pacific locomotive tucked away down the side of the shed. We had absolutely no idea why it was there nor any means of finding out. It seemed to be there for weeks before it was gone.....
That memory stayed with me as a puzzle until I read the above magazine letter that accompanied a photo of 46238 City of Carlisle at Aintree. Finally I now know why it was there. If anybody has any more details PLEASE write and tell me.....
