I was up at stupid o'clock in order to reach the ELR for this charter from my home in Warwickshire. I missed the 1st pass as I was parking the car but it certainly was worthwhile making the effort to get here. The "Super G" put on a fine show for us. I'm so glad the team managed to repair the loco the previous day after working on it all day long. Leaking boiler tube??

Temperature was hovering around freezing point and flurries of snow were falling at this time but as forecast, somewhat heavier but strangely drier snow or more like frozen rain, fell later in the day.
