Finally back at Coventry via platform 2 meant having to walk over the bridge. That enabled me to pay homage to the nameplate of 46240 City of Coventry.(RIP)
In the same way that 46235 City of Birmingham was offered to Birmingham by British Railways in the 60's (and it now lies entombed in the dreadful millenium point museum) Coventry was offered Stanier Pacfic no 46240 City of Coventry. Why did they turn it down? So short-sighted.
