Driver for the trip, the very young looking John Tyson, (he's buying the beers in The Nevada Hotel next time so I'm sucking up a bit) stands behind the conductor and one of the many young up and coming engineers who hopefully will take over the reins. The weather here looks warm & sunny in the photo but the Gods were about to throw everything at us over the next two days - gale force winds causing dust storms, snow and sleet and temperatures barely above freezing point. This was after 100degrees+ at St George, Utah just 250 miles to the south.
