The engine shed was home to STEAMPORT until purchased by ASDA supermarket. It was home to Class 24 no 24081 (now at G&WR), Class 52 no D1048 Western Lady (now at Butterley), the Barry wreck no 76079 (now at NYMR I think) and Stanier 4-6-0 no 44806 Magpie (now Llangollen). A number of smaller industrial locos were also there. However with the money the Ribble Steam Centre at Preston Docks was created but focussing on small industrial locomotives more appropriate to that environment. I recall seeing the original L&M loco Lion in steam at Southport - Star of Titfield Thunderbolt.
