The train has made an enormous detour around the West Midlands area to arrive at Wolverhampton via Walsall.

I enquired as to which platform it would use and was thanked by the ladies in the office who thought steam would only "go on" at Crewe as there was an hours stop there. I advised them that the stop was to take water. They thought it would be a diesel loco hauling it. They were made up seeing a steam train.
