5043 passes 13th Century Conwy Castle
Conwy castle was built between 1283 amp; 1289 during Edward 1st's second campaign in North Wales.
Across the Conwy River are the rocky outcrops of Deganwy where the King of Gwynedd - Maelgwn, had his wooden stronghold from AD520 - 547. It was destryed by fire after a lightning strike in the year 860. Little is left except ditches and mounds.
