The Great Northern did not come into Colorado, but provided a northern transcontinental route from Minneapolis to Seattle. GN merged with the Northern Pacific, Seattle, Portland & Spokane, CB&Q and the Frisco to form the Burlington Northern in 1970. The BN has now merged with the Sante Fe (ATSF) and renamed the BNSF. BNSF has a large presence in Pueblo and the main line runs next to our museum yard.
